BE INSPIRED. EXPLORE SPACES FOR YOUTH.

What we do
Spaces for Youth develops life skills, improves social inclusion and creates opportunities for social participation of young people through sport and play.

How we do it
We develop tailored capacity-building programmes and awareness-raising initiatives that support sport coaches and youth workers to exploit the full potential of sport and play.

Our vision
A world where every young person thrives and leads through the transformative power of sport and play.
The story of spaces
We believe in the potential of young people. And that sport and play can make them thrive.
Spaces for Youth is a sport for development programme for coaches and youth workers to support them developing life skills, improving social inclusion and creating opportunities for social participation of young people through sport and play.
Our approach
Sport 4 Development
The Spaces for Youth Sport for Development (S4D) Approach is grounded in the belief that sport has the potential to do good. With it, we exploit sport and play as an intentional tool to reach out to youngsters and to address social issues, such as health and well-being, inclusion, employability, peace-building, leadership, or community development.
Capacity Building
To exploit the full potential of our Spaces Sport for Development approach certain skills and knowledge are required. Therefore, we offer capacity building trainings to qualify as a Spaces S4D Coach. This includes trainings about Sport for Development basics, designing S4D offerings, working with different target groups, plus planning and implementing youth development measures.
Youth Empowerment
Our Sport for Development approach is grounded in the concept of Positive Youth Development. We emphasize not only the targeted development of specific life skills, but we also foster five key qualities crucial for holistic youth empowerment and growth: Competence, confidence, connection, character, and caring.
Networking
We believe in nurturing local Sport for Development ecosystems to boost S4D and PYD impact. This includes setting up local Sport for Development implementation hubs that coordinate the variety of local stakeholders. This includes youth organsiations, youth centers, sports clubs, community-based organizations, or schools.
Awareness Raising
The proper onboarding and engagement of the variety of local Sport for Development stakeholder groups is an important element of our approach. It includes awareness-raising to different youth, potential S4D trainers, parents, organisations, and decision-makers. It extends from local Sport for Development events to international social media campaigns.
OBJECTIVES
Young people in Egypt are empowered through sport-based capacity-building and awareness-raising activities towards social inclusion and civic participation.
Key stakeholders from the youth and sport sector in Egypt improve their capacities to support youngsters through sport for development approaches and local S4D ecosystems.
ACTIVITIES
Spaces for Youth Egypt is based on four pillars:
(1) Youth Empowerment activities for young women and young men, including youngsters with disabilities, (2) Capacity Building trainings for S4D mentors, S4D coaches, and S4D cluster teams, (3) Awareness-Raising activities towards relevant stakeholders, and (4) Developing Local S4D Clusters in four Governorates in Egypt.

OUR EMPOWERMENT APPROACH
Youth empowerment is at the core of the Spaces approach. Our pathway starts with sport participation and sports literacy interventions. And it follows up with personal growth initiatives through sport for development interventions. This leads to young leadership.
It includes capacity building activities for coaches and youth workers, building local S4D Ecosystems, and running accompanying S4D awareness-raising campaigns.
